michael jackson - our icon

Michael Jackson - Our Icon is a BET's Special Tribute to Michael Jackson after his passing. It is filled with interviews and insights completely from the perspective of Michael as a black man part of the black community. I feel this is important to see, even thought Michael transcends the colour barriers and all lines of race, he first and foremost called himself a proud black man. I hope you enjoy the video's perceptive.

Captain EO is a 3D science fiction film starring Michael Jackson and directed by Francis Ford Coppola originally released September 1986 at the two Disney parks in American and Tokyo Disney in March of 1987 and now making its grand premier here at amichaelappreciation!

So sit back and watch Captain EO and his faithful, somewhat unusual, crew set out on their mission to deliver a special gift to a wicked queen who lives on a dark, desolate world.

Getting there is half the fun, especially when the sexy captain starts dancing around and the special effects start flying!

mtv tribute

After Michael passed away there were a lot of tributes. Many that were unorganized and poorly executed. This was the one and only one that made me really feel it did him justice. The spectacular opening of the 2009 MTV Awards pays tribute to Michael with a medley of his hits 'Thriller,' 'Bad,' 'Smooth Criminal' and 'Scream' featuring a special appearance by his sister, Janet.

While in Tokyo on the first leg of the Bad Tour, Australian pop music critic Molly Meldrum conducted an exclusive interview with Michael and Frank DiLeo that was featured on Australian TV and on 60 Minutes in the United States.

It is one of the few interviews during this time, giving us a rare and intimate look at Michael during the Bad Tour.

"I Want You Back" 1969

THOSE SUPERFLY DANCE MOVES! THOSE DRUMS! Michael's purple pimp hat! At a turning point for the Motown empire, Berry Gordy puts all of Hitsville U.S.A's resources (including the then-unthinkable sessions budget of $10,000.00) into devising the perfect pop song. Michael's pleading vocal brings it home. Literally nobody has ever walked out of a room while this song is playing."
